Make a Difference for Thousands of Kids!
Join Children Awaiting Parents in celebration of family on Saturday, September 26th for the annual Family Walk. If you live in Rochester, New York- join us for the gorgeous 2.5 mile walk at beautiful Ontario Beach Park. If you live elsewhere in the United States, join us on that day for a virtual walk in support of children who wait for a family of their own in your neighborhood.
Get started by creating your own fundraising page. Create a fundraising page for your own family, or create one representing one of the Children Awaiting Parents' kids that are currently waiting for a loving home of their own. You can walk in support of Davion of Florida, Nancy of Ohio, or Andre of Arizona, all pictured on the left of this page.
Reach out to your friends and family, create a team, and start competing to raise the most money to help children in the United States that are searching for a family to call their own. All funds raised at the Family Walk support Children Awaiting Parents' efforts to find a home for every child in foster care.
Both individual and team walkers are eligible for terrific prizes, incuding ipod shuffles for the top fundraiser in adult and youth categories, as well as passes to Darien Lake. Teams compete to win a group package to NVP Paintball. Teams that raise $500 or more by September 1st, 2009 are eligible to have their team name printed on the back of their Family Walk T-shirts!
Every individual that raises $150 or more will win a great sports bag! Walkers that raise $250 or more can choose a fantastic windbreaker! Individuals that raise $500 or more can select a terrific fleece jacket!
