"This February nineteen riders from H2H will bike 1200 miles from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City over high mountain passes, through beautiful rice fields, soaking rains, and wonderful hospitality. TCI is most pleased to partner with H2H again. This year we will complete a library begun in 2010 that serves over eight hundred students at the Catdang Middle School. We will finish construction on a fourth kindergarden in the commune, and we will continue with our micro lending program.

We hope to raise at least net $15,000 for these projects. We think that the continuing costs at the library will be about $5,000 - more books, audio-visual equipment, dvds, shelving and storage as well as a librarian stipend. The kindergarden should cost about $7,500 to complete construction and purchase toys, play ground equipment, mats and blankets. We plan to give out ten $250 loans to parents of the poorest students at the school. Loans will buy pigs, bamboo cutting machines, raw wood, etc.

All our efforts are volunteered. We are very aware of the value of dollars in a country like Vietnam: $50= a one year scholarship; or twenty-five books; or a month's pay for the librarian.
