What is Child Survival Program?
In response to the high under-five mortality rate and the desperate need of mothers in extreme poverty, Compassion’s Child Survival Program intervenes with medical care during and post pregnancy and ongoing medical treatment for their children, good nutrition and hygiene care, literacy training, instruction in sewing and other vocational training, and most importantly learning how to better raise their children. Both group and 1x1 support at the center and in the home is provided. And this early intervention is working! In September, UNICEF reports estimated that the number of children under the age of five dying globally fell from nearly 12 million in 1990 to an estimated 6.9 million in 2011.
Your participation and fundraising will help us drop this number of unnecessary deaths even more! Invite people to sponsor you for the race by creating your own fundraising page upon registration and multiply our rescue effort!
