SLC Chill Shred-a-Thon
Announcing Salt Lake City Chill SHRED-A-THON: a benefit for the Salt Lake City Chill Foundation.
The Chill Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for at-risk and underserved youth to build self-esteem and life skills through board sports. The Salt Lake City Chill program currently serves over 80 youth ages 10-17 from 13 different youth and family agencies in Salt Lake City and the surrounding area including low-income schools, residential treatment centers, group homes, and advocacy organizations. We facilitate a life skills curriculum covering 6 major themes: patience, persistence, responsibility, courage, respect, and pride. We teach this curriculum in parallel with weekly snowboarding lessons at our host site, Brighton Mountain Resort.
