Many of you may recall my victory last year as the fastest clergy woman of the Diocese of Connecticut.  And don't think that I didn't know you were laughing about that or thinking how slow everyone must have been! And sure, I am half the age of every other clergy person in the Diocese.  However, the point is that this race raises money for a very important cause - The Bishop's Fund for Children.  It is a program of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut that addressed the needs of children at risk throughout the state by funding programs, educating the community about the plight of children, and serving as a catalyst for action.  The funding focus is on social service programs that work directly with families and children at risk, including: After school, mentoring, youth ministry, tutorial and art programs, shelters, camps, children's health care initiatives and family centers.
