Help us save Wyatt!
Wyatt is fighting for his life. Your donation will help save him. Wyatt was rescued from a very high kill animal shelter on his very last day. When we rescued him we knew that his vision was impaired, and vowed to get him the treatment that he needed. Apparently no one cared enough about Wyatt previously to get him seen by a vet. After being in our care for a couple of days and receiving treatment for his eyes, Wyatt took a turn for the worse and became very lethargic, didn't want to eat and just all around felt lousy. Our vets have confirmed what we feared, Wyatt has pneumonia. His right lung is practically filled and his breathing capacity is limited. Wyatt is receiving the very best care---however that care is very costly. He is currently in an oxygen tent, being nebulized and on a very tough antibiotic. He is fighting for his life and we are trying vigilantly to raise the funds needed to continue his care. We commit to the medical needs of every dog that comes through our rescue's doors. We never turn our back on a dog with medical needs. However, we need your help to refill our accounts and to be able to tell our vet's that we can continue with Wyatt's costly care. Three days of intensive care could easily cost us $3K, so as you can see it is vital that we reach out to you to help Wyatt. Any donation will go straight to Wyatt's care. Please consider helping Wyatt today.
**Update 5/3 late evening: Wyatt was holding his own and his condition had not worsened. We are hoping for a positive report this morning. We will update this page as soon as we hear from his doctor. Thank you for donating. We are already making a small dent in his medical bills.
**Update 5/9: Wyatt has been released from the intensive care!! He is still under the supervision of one of our trusted vets but he is going to make it. :) His prognosis was touch and go for a bit, but he is so much stronger now and doing well! He is going to stay with our vet until Monday and then be released to a foster home! YEAH! We are thrilled that he is out of the woods. Now we get to find him a permanent home that is worthy of this wondeful boy. Thanks again for your tremendous support!
**Update 5/16: We are somewhat in sticker shock over the vet bills that we just received for Wyatt. His total care has reached just over 6K. We are swallowing hard as we are watching our account dwindle!. With that said, he is worth every penny of it and we are so glad that you helped us save him.
He is doing fantastic in his foster home. He is beautifully housebroken and a total gentlemen in the house. He gets along with all of his housemates and even tolerates the young, rowdy ones! Wyatt is truly as pleasant as they come. He is waiting for his forever home now! If you know of someone looking for share their life with an unassuming, furry friend...please have them contact us! Wyatt would love a place to call his own.
