Comfort Zone's Grief Relief Team paves the way for healing after the loss of a loved one.

Runners and walkers raise awareness and support for Comfort Zone Camp by joining the Grief Relief Team and participating in races across the country. Comfort Zone mixes fun traditional camp activities with proven therapeutic models to provide grieving children with a voice, a place and a community in which to heal, grow and lead more fulfilling lives.

During training for the Rock n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon, you will educate your friends and family about the impact Comfort Zone makes on families. The finish line is just the beginning because your efforts will help children and teens take the next steps of their healing journey after the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling.

 

What is the Grief Relief Team?

The Grief Relief Team has members from across the country completing races varying in length from 1-mile fun runs for kids to marathons. We are a community of Comfort Zone Camp supporters and individuals honoring loved ones by dedicating a race in their memory.

1.  Register for the  Rock n' Roll LA Half Marathon.

2.  Click the big green Join Now button at the top of this page to join the Grief Relief Team ($25 processing fee).

3.  Create a personal fundraising page on FirstGiving.

 

What to Expect

Fundraising: Immediately after you join the Grief Relief Team, FirstGiving will email you information about setting up your personal fundraising page. The default fundraising goal is $500 because that is the cost to send one grieving child to camp. We encourage you to set a goal that inspires you and that you can be proud to accomplish.

Support: Next, Comfort Zone Camp staff and volunteers will email you the official Grief Relief Team fundraising kit, which will help you easily reach your goal. We will also stay in touch with you in the weeks leading up to your race to support your fundraising. On race day, Comfort Zone supporters will be there to cheer you on and celebrate your success.

About the Rock n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon

Called the "world's largest Halloween Half Marathon," the Rock n' Roll LA Half Marathon is the place to be. A great race combined with bands along the course and thousands of spectators cheering you on. Please note: the course time limit for this event is 4 hours, meaning that all participants must be able to complete 13.1 miles in 4 hours or less (18:19/mile pace).

Registration cost: $85 from 3/1-4/15; $95 from 4/16-7/31 and $110 from 8/1-10/21/12.
