Our group members are lucky enough to be residents of Confluence, PA--the midpoint of the Great Allegheny Passage from Cumberland (actually DC if you count the C&O Canal Towpath) to Pittsburgh. We're neighbors of Ohiopyle State Park and if there's one thing we NEVER take for granted, it's the miracle of having 20,000 acres of Pennsylvania's gorgeous Laurel Highlands and 320 miles of bike trail right outside our doors.
To celebrate, on Sunday, September 14th many of us will ride from our front doors to Connellsville, at the Other End of the section of the trail that traverses Ohiopyle. It's 28 miles here to there--some will call it a day right then and there; others will turn around and ride back. Our donations benefit FOO (the Friends of Ohiopyle) and PPFF, the Mother Ship of PA's public lands fundraising. Please join us--to ride, to shuttle the tired ones, or just to make a donation to two very worthy organizations.
Without you and without us, big stuff for both groups just won't happen!
