We've partnered with GlobalGiving…

...so you can now find and support small projects through FirstGiving. Many of these projects are in developing countries and wouldn't otherwise have direct access to North American donors.

About GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving is a US-based charity that finds and vets small grassroots projects seeking funding around the world. It makes sure each project is legitimate and makes a real social impact. Then it helps these projects connect with generous supporters like you.

Why the 15% fee?

The fee is split between GlobalGiving, FirstGiving and credit card processing fees.
GlobalGiving's 7.5% fee (which has been reduced for FirstGiving fundraisers) enables GlobalGiving to:

• find and screen small grassroots projects across the world
• connect these projects with people like you
• make sure donations go right to the project
• show you real results from your donation

FirstGiving's 5% fee allows us to provide our community the very best online fundraising tools available. It means we can keep building you new, easy ways – like this new GlobalGiving partnership - to find and support causes you care about.

Credit card processing fees, 2.5%, will also be assessed.

How It Works

1. You donate to a project on FirstGiving. Donors have the option to cover all fees, in which case, 100% of the donation goes directly to the project.
2. We pass your donation directly on to GlobalGiving.
3. GlobalGiving makes sure your gift goes directly to the project and is on-the-ground within 60 days to have an immediate impact.
4. You can follow project updates – letting you see the difference your donation's made (visit the project page updates tab)
