Walk a Mile in Her Shoes asks men and women to walk a mile in women's high heeled shoes.
 
It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it's fun, and it makes a strong statement that men have an important
role to play in ending violence against women.

* Cornerstone invites both men and women to participate in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. High-heeled shoes will be provided for men. We will loan men a pair of heels at no charge; however, shoes must be returned at the end of the event or can be purchased for $50.

Cornerstone was founded in 1983 and purposefully took a new approach to serving individuals and families that have experienced domestic abuse and violence in their relationships. They embarked on a mission to engage community partners from law enforcement, healthcare, education, elected officials, and the faith community. What followed was a series of program innovations that led to the full continuum of services that we now offer. In 2009, Cornerstone impacted the lives of 27,132 individuals. We offer supportive services that allow victims to create emotional and financial stability, we treat children as primary victims with complicated needs, we counsel the victim's family system, whomever that may consist of, and we connect with the entire community.
