The Champaign County Humane Society (CCHS) is an independent, non-profit (501(c)(3)) corporation, funded by donations. CCHS shelters over 2,100 homeless pets each year through a comprehensive animal welfare program. CCHS also provides educational programs to schools and community groups and works with other local agencies to provide spay/neuter services to low-income residents. Its licensed humane investigators respond to reports of possible animal neglect or cruelty. CCHS does not receive government funds and is not funded by any national humane organization.
