Trenton Kindred's Story:
Trenton Kindred is the five year-old son of Greg and Ginger Kindred of Atlanta, Georgia. He was diagnosed on March 18, 2005 (five days after his 1st birthday) with high risk, Stage IV Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. Immediately after diagnosis, he began five rounds of chemotherapy, followed by stem cell harvesting and two tandem bone marrow transplants. During this time Trenton lived in the hospital for a total of eight months. Countless minor surgeries, infections, sedation, skin rashes, low blood counts and fatigue defined his life. After two months of recovery, radiation began and lasted for twenty-one consecutive days. Trenton's final treatment was oral chemotherapy twice a day for 6 months. Trenton has been free of cancer since June 2006.
