Please join us on Saturday, May 16, for a fundraiser to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. The fundraiser will be held at The Hill, 416 3rd Ave (btw 29th & 30th) from 9 – 11 p.m. We are requesting a donation of $20 that will go directly to the charity, and there will be free appetizers, $3 domestic beers, $4 vodka drinks, and $5 appletinis and cosmos.
We are dedicating the night to the memory of Green Beret Staff Sergeant Joseph Curreri, who tragically died in 2007 while deployed in the Philippines in the fight against global terrorism.
Although Joe did not have any children, he was a passionate supporter of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Joe's family recently created a scholarship fund through the SOWF to celebrate Joe's life, acknowledge his accomplishments, and help to make his dream of educating others come true. Starting in the Fall of 2009, one graduating senior will be chosen to be the recipient of the Staff Sergeant Joseph Curreri Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will continue with the student through all four years of their college education and will help provide for tuition, room, board, books and supplies.
We raised over $5,000 for the SOWF last year, and we're hoping to meet that goal again. Thank you for your support.
