Dear friends, thank you for visiting my page!
As some of you may already know, I am a volunteer therapist with the Heart Touch Project (www.hearttouch.org), a non-profit organization that provides compassionate touch to many ill and isolated people throughout the greater Los Angeles area. We do not charge for this service, but rather offer it freely out of compassion and love.
Through our new venture, Heart Touch Global Outreach we will be realizing a long held vision of serving AIDS victims throughout the world. Our first expedition will be to Thailand in November 2006, where we will be sending a pioneering team of volunteers to work with a very special group of HIV/AIDS victims. I am very proud to be a member of this elite team. But before I go on, please take a moment to consider this statistic:
There are over 380,000 orphaned infants and children in Thailand who are suffering from HIV/AIDS, many of them abandoned by their parents because of their disease.
Frightening, but true. And the numbers are growing. Sadly there are only a handful of organizations committed to caring for these desperate children, and most of them are ill equipped, under staffed and seriously lacking in funds.
With your tax-deductible donation to Heart Touch you will not only be making it possible for us to directly serve as many of these children as we possibly can, but also for us to share our experience, strength and hope with their caretakers in hospices and temples throughout Thailand, several of which have already expressed great interest and are warmly welcoming us with open arms.
Since there is no outside funding for this project, each volunteer is independently striving to raise at least the funds required for Heart Touch to cover his or her own expenses. We seriously need your help to make this trip possible! Please support us with your tax-deductible donation so that these lonely, confused children can receive some much-needed love and care. Any excess funds raised will be used to buy gifts for the children, as well as for cash donations to the temples and hospices to further their work.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart!
Dale
