3 years ago, when Bandit was just a couple of weeks old, she got adopted from a local shelter here in Chicago. Ever since, I am an active supporter of Animal Resuce Groups and Shelters. Being a full time student and full time employee does not leave a lot of spare time, but still, once a week I head to a local shelter and help out. If it's taking a couple of dogs for a walk or helping with paper work in the office, there is always work that needs to be done.
Every year, the Anti Cruelty Society in Chicago holds a Fundraiser Event called "Bark in the Park" at Montrose Harbor which includes a 5K walk. And we, Bandit and I, would like to participate.
We would like to raise enough money to provide first week's care for 2 dogs and 2 cats, which means we need at least $500.
So skip your $8 Starbucks Coffee today, take the Train instead of the Cab and choose Tap Water over that fancy bottled water and help us make a difference.
