Hello Friends!

Thank you for visiting my page!

I've taken on a very ambitious effort, and am inviting you to participate with me. I will be running the Sedona Half Marathon on February 9th, 2008, and the Paris Marathon on April 6th, 2008! That's 39+ miles! Why am I doing this??

I have participated with an organization called Cherish Our Children International (COCI) since 1995. COCI's vision is a world in which each child has the opportunity to live life fully and to make their unique contribution. We have especially worked with some of the world's most vulnerable children - children "warehoused" and abandoned in Romania, kids impacted by war in Serbia, victims of hurricane Katrina in the US, kids who are normally brought up to hate each other in Israel, etc.

I have personally visited some of the programs we have supported in Romania and Serbia, and there is nothing that tugs at your heart more than a child that just wants to be picked up and loved. Training for these races has been very challenging, but it is nothing like the challenges that many children in the world face on a daily basis.

I am also running the Paris marathon in honor of my friend Jeanette Cissel, who died last year. Jeannette was an avid runner, and her courage, grace, and beauty inspired me to run the marathon.

I am requesting your support to fulfill on my fundraising goal of $15,000. One thing that makes COCI unique is that we have very little administrative overhead, meaning most of the money raised goes directly towards the kids in the programs we support, so you and your donation will MAKE A DIFFERENCE! You could also support me by joining my fundraising team and working with me to raise funds.
