Our personal message:
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am a former CASA advocate and now serve on the Board of Directors at CASA of Humboldt. I am raising money with a few friends for the CASA Kidwalk - Barbie Graham, Jenna Hoffman, Vanessa Martinez, and Nora Donehoo.
As a CASA advocate, I quickly realized how important a CASA can be in the life of a child in the foster care system. After completing an extensive training, I was assigned a six year old girl who had been removed from her home due to neglect. I spent three years with my CASA kid and got to watch her grow up. During this time, she lived in four different homes, had three different social workers, attended three different schools, and was separated from her siblings. I was the one thing that remained constant in her life. I was also the only person reporting to the judge that had only her best interest in mind. After three years, my CASA kid's mother regained her parental rights and my CASA kid returned home.
There are countless other children like my CASA child who need committed volunteers to help them through their difficult journey through the child welfare system. Making a donation today will help recruit and train more volunteers so we can serve as many children in Humboldt County as possible.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. If you're not comfortable using the website for a donation, please send a check to CASA of Humboldt, 2356 Myrtle Ave, Eureka, CA 95503. Be sure to write Dazzling Divas on the check so our team gets credit for it.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
