Barkley and I are walking to help homeless cats and dogs on March 7, 2009. Last year my lil' spaniels raised $170, and we are hoping to reach a goal of $500 for our second year. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can only contribute a little, every bit counts. Remember, it is tax-deductible!
UPDATE: Thanks to incredibly generous friends, we have long passed our goal! However, so many animals need your help, so if you clicked here to donate, I hope that you will still give a little to the animals from your heart.
The Humane Society is proactive in preventing animals from becoming homeless with its education and outreach programs. They provide excellent training for puppy and dog owners...Barkley graduated from their puppy preschool where we learned about potty training, bite inhibition, chewing, not jumping up on people, and more. Your donation helps fund these educational programs that help to prevent dogs from being surrendered in the first place.
The Humane Society of Broward County doesn't just help pets in South Florida. They have reached out to transport and house thousands of pets from other parts of the country after natural disasters, and helped rescue organizations in other states when they have saved huge numbers of puppy mill dogs.
We will be walking with our Dog Scouts of America Troop 157 (Broward County Paw Patrol), and some dear friends. We would love it if you and your doggy would sign up and walk with us! If you can't walk with us, please donate...every little bit helps!
The photo at left was taken after the 2008 walk. Don't Sweet Pea and Barkley look proud of themselves for completing it and helping other dogs?
Barkley says "thank you for your support!"
