Dear Friends,
Most of you know that I have been volunteering with animal rescue for 15 years, undertaking various responsibilities from fostering homeless dogs and cats, handling adoptions, computer and graphic projects, photographing the animals, fundraising and more.
As you may or may not know, my sidekick Margarita, who was once homeless herself, also helps her less unfortunate friends by dressing up in cute costumes raising money for their care until their day comes and they too find their forever homes.
I am now working with the RAMAPO-BERGEN ANIMAL REFUGE (RBARI) in Oakland, NJ. A wonderful place to be a part of. Please visit our website at www.rbari.org. RBARI is a privately run non-profit “no kill” organization which relies solely on donations and the money generated by the fundraising events we hold.
One event that is coming up is the Mutts Marathon, Saturday, October 11 from 11am to 5 pm at Shepherd Lake in Ringwood State Park. If you would like more information on this event or would like to participate, please visit www.muttsmarathon.com. There you will find information on registering for the walk, sponsorship opportunities, setting up your own pledge web page and more. It will be a great day for both humans and dogs! Please join us if you can……. Margarita and I will be there and, of course, she will be dressed in her jogging attire. She would love to meet you.
We know that not everyone can volunteer, but you can still help! Please join me (and Margarita) by pledging a donation (that is tax deductible), which will help us reach our goal. Anything, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will go directly to helping the animals, therefore you will be assisting in our continued mission.
