My personal message:
Thank you for visiting my fund raising page!  
I had such wonderful support last year that I raised over $1000 and I am hoping to be able to do it once again with your help.

I have been jogging along on my short little penguin legs trying to stay healthy in mind and body for one year now.  With the help of a healthy diet, I have lost 30lbs and feel great!  I was initially inspired to start running by last year's Samaritans 5k, and I have been looking forward to the 2008 race all year.  I've run a lot of 5k's since then, but this is the only annual event for which I solicit all my friends and family for support.

As someone who has experienced lifelong personal and familial struggles with despair and depression, I have the utmost appreciation for organizations like Samaritans, who reach out into the community in attempts to strengthen and heal individuals and families affected by suicide; and to counsel and aid community members experiencing suicidal ideation.  The education, support, and resources provided by suicide prevention organizations can truly make a tremendous impact on the lives of those facing the isolation and hopelessness of clinical depression.

I truly appreciate your support for my cause.

The 10th Annual "Run for Someone Else's Life" 5K will be held on October 4th at Artesani Park in Brighton, MA.  I would love it if you came to cheer me on!  Thanks everybody!
