"IN MEMORY OF SHAMI"
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Your kind and generous donations are fast, easy, and totally secured. Our beloved daughter and sister, who died on February 4th, 2009 from lupus related complications. She was 35 years old at the time of her death, Shami’s passion and purpose in life was caring and giving for other.
She was so vibrant and full of life always. There were times when Shami was not feeling well from this disease, but it didn’t matter she would still find her time, strength, and energy to give to others. Shami’s family, friends, and loved one could always depend on her being there for them. She lived with disease for 8 years.
You would never be able to tell Shami was sick, because of her content and energetic ways. In the eyes of a complete stranger, she was perfectly fine. She never once complained. In her last years with us she gave all she had to give. She will always be greatly missed, but she will always live with us in our hearts.
To continue the fight and support for those who are living with lupus. The research for a future cure for this disease and what causes it will help millions of people living with lupus today. Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which can damage any part of the body (joints, skin, and /or organs in the body). Normally the immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protect the body from foreign invaders and the bodies’ healthy tissues.
Theses auto antibodies causes inflammation, pain and damage in various parts of the body. Lupus is a disease of flares (the symptoms worsen and you feel ill) and remissions (the symptoms improve and you feel better). Lupus can range from mile to life -threaten and should always be treated by a doctor with good medical care. Most people with lupus can lead a full life; this is why your donations would help support in finding a cure for lupus.
Thank you kindly ,
