Three years ago, I swam the first Distant Memories Swim to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association Long Island. Last year, I was joined by my brother and some friends as I swam the 3.5 nautical miles across Northport Bay. This year I will be joined by my brother Eric, and friends Alex & Dave Borg, PJ Hahn, Johnny Gravel, Greg Taylor, Mike Potter, Bill Drinkwater, Mike Boone and Sarah Trifiletti who will swim with me on August 1st to raise funds to fight Alzheimer's Disease.
It is estimated that 14-16 million of todays baby boomers will have Alzheimer's Disease. The social, economical, and emotional impact will be devastating. Damage begins 10-20 years before symptoms appear. We must find a way to prevent Alzheimer's Disease now, before the damage begins. By donating, the mind you save may be your own or a loved one's. Please join me and my friends in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease by donating to the Alzheimer's Association Long Island.
