Why fundraise for America's chained dogs and Dogs Deserve Better?
Dogs Deserve Better is celebrating our Tenth Anniversary of fighting for America's Chained and Penned Dogs, and what a glorious ten years it has been! We have made an incredible amount of progress in this issue since our inception in 2002, and the organization has rescued over 3000 dogs from chains and pens, published three books and two chiildren's books to raise awareness, and helped pass grassroots legislation in countless cities, counties, and towns. Last year alone at Chain Off over the 4th of July we over 100 people in 20 states lived chained to doghouses asking for Freedom for Dogs everywhere! That's a phenomenal amount of growth compared to one woman living chained in 2003!
Last year we began to bring our BIG DREAM of our own rescue facility to fruition by purchasing Michael Vick's former Bad Newz Kennels, and are transforming it to the Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained and Penned Dogs. As we fundraise to build our state of the art facility, we are rescuing and rehabbing dogs from the home that came with the property; we get them housetrained, obedience trained, vetted, groomed, and ready for their new home and family. Our area reps work all across the country, educating, rescuing, and rehoming dogs from foster homes in order to bring better lives to those who suffer so.
During this year's Chain Off campaign we'd like to double the amount of people who take the stand with us, either at our major event, or in your own neighborhood, park, or even your own backyard.
