Thank you for donating in memory of our mother, Ms. Dorothy "Dot" Powell.
Dorothy Laverne Powell was born on Sunday, October 27, 1946 to the late Viola Powell and Thurman Monk. After years of illness she peacefully slipped away to be with the Creator on March 17, 2009.
Dot was a tried and true Bronxite. She was vocal and outspoken sharing her opinion freely. She was well known and loved by many. Dot was always there to help in a time of need willing to provide whatever assistance she could. She was and entrepreneur extraordinary using her gift of sales in various arenas.
Dot's relationship and understanding of God's promise to her, in her later years grew to be a powerful force in her life. Dot accepted and loved the Lord, embracing him for strength and guidance.
Dot turned her life around entering recovery on Saturday, March 12, 1994. She celebrated 15 years. She was a member of Sugar Hill, Women Into The Solution, Jughead, Women to Women, and Promises 2 For 1.
