Down Syndrome Indiana(DSI) is a not-for-profit organization serving the needs of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. DSI is supported by a dedicated board of directors, a 4 member staff and countless volunteers. The programs & services provided by DSI are supported totally by individual and corporate donations combined with annual fund raisers & special events.

Down Syndrome Indiana is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. Our mission is to serve as a conduit of information, support and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, which promotes growth and inclusion in the community.

Down Syndrome Indiana is committed to supporting individuals with Down syndrome throughout their lifetime by: promoting self advocacy, inclusion & participation in the community, being the most comprehensive resource on Down syndrome, serving as the state leader for public policy advocacy & increasing positive public awareness.
Description
Down Syndrome Indiana is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3, non-member organization serving the needs of individuals with Down syndrome along with their families, caregivers, teachers and employers. We are supported by a dedicated Board of Directors, a full time Executive Director, 3 additional staff persons, and numerous volunteers. DSI offers a wide variety of resources for families and medical professionals. In addition, DSI coordinates active support groups to connect families. We host several events throughout the year. Some events are fund-raising activities that support not only the Indiana organization as well as national research efforts. Other events are usually recreational or social in nature. The programs and services of the organization are supported totally by individual and corporate donations, grants and special events.
Buddy Walk®
Down Syndrome Indiana is excited to host the 16th Annual Buddy Walk® in Indianapolis, Indiana!
Once again, we will gather to celebrate in Celebration Plaza of White River State Park in beautiful downtown Indianapolis, with the walk beginning at noon along the scenic canal loop. This family-friendly event is open to all children and adults with Down syndrome, their families, friends and thousands of local supporters. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 12, 2013 and be prepared to have a great experience!
The event will feature an information tent that will house more than 25 non-profit agencies that provide valuable resources to families and individuals with Down syndrome.
Register your Buddy Walk® team today and help us make an impact on the lives of thousands of Hoosiers. Teams that raise at least $5,000 by August 1, will receive one(1) outdoor billboard posting in which your child will be featured to promote the Buddy Walk®!

We can also help you organize third party fund raisers and promotional programs to help raise additional funds!

The 15th Annual Buddy Walk® in 2012 was a record-breaking success! We hosted the most teams in the event's history with nearly 5,500 participants! Together we raised more than $200,000 to support the mission of Down Syndrome Indiana! We, at Down Syndrome Indiana, are especially grateful for the support of all donors, sponsors, team captains, walkers and volunteers at this marvelous event - it would not have been possible without you!
