I am walking in the Walk for Life on June 28, 2008 to help Bethany Christian Services continue to provide adoption services and free pregnancy counseling.  I ask that you consider sponsoring me in this Walk for Life so that we may continue to bring families together through adoption.  

As you probably know, I am an adoption social worker and have been touched by the work I have been so blessed to be a part of.  I have been able to watch God work in the most amazing ways as He brings together two separate families to form one large extended family, all focusing on the life of their child. 

It is a privilege to be so involved in the process, from completing a family’s initial home study to making “the call” to share the news of the birth of their baby- I could not imagine a more wonderful way to spend my days! 

What many people do not realize is that our agency is a non-profit and it costs the agency $30,000 to complete each adoption.  Adoptive families' fees are based on a sliding scale, with the average cost to a family totaling $17,000.  This means that the agency (me and the other social workers) must help raise an average of $12,000 per adoption to help offset the cost and keep our doors open so we may continue to serve familes.  We are very grateful for the support we receive and hope that you may feel led to help us in our work.
