CASA provides children in the Humboldt County foster care system with an advocate to the courts.  These advocates spend time eith the children, learn their needes, and work to make their lives better.

We believe that children in the Humboldt county foster care system need an adult who fights on their behalf.  It is for this reason that we are choosing to raise funds and walk in the 2007 CASA Kid walk.

FACTS:

-In Humboldt County 1 in 12 children were reported abused or neglected in 2006

-Overall, child abuse is reported in Humboldt County at 150% of the state average

-In 2006 CASA only had the resources to provide for 153  of the 300 abused and neglected children in Humboldt County.
