Hello and welcome to my Firstgiving Page. 

As you all know non profit organizations have been suffering terribly this year. I Edwin Ruiz  am involved in one of those organizations:

"The New York City Gay men's Chorus"  

   Did you know that we've been around for 30 years? That's right! This will be our 30th anniversary singing, Singing for : Egaulity, Diversity, Marriage,acceptance etc. 

But like I said ALL NON PROFITS ARE HURTING and we are no different! We need your help. We've gone to all measures to help ourselves by reconstructing, but it's still not enough.

With your help we can continue our mission,to work once again in all communities and do outreach in all 5 Boros and even outside the state.

In past years we've participated in other non profits raising well over $25,000.00 for them  each year.  We are not in this alone. We volunteered ourselves for other non profit organizations to support many great causes. I believe we are a great cause.

 Will you be kind enough to help? by donating the cost of a morning cup of coffee or tea, The cost of a night out for dinner, movie, or a drink? Every little bit helps. We will not be singing this year if our fundraising goals are not met. We are counting on many of you. Friends,Family,Co workers and yes even Strangers.

· The “reason” for an openly gay Chorus to exist in NYC is not easy for some to understand, or for some of our members to explain, 30 years after our creation. While our purpose, in some ways, may have shifted over the years, we continue to be a group of openly gay men that entertains audiences, promotes tolerance and acceptance, celebrates diversity, gives back to our community and supports causes important to the LGBT population and other diverse groups.
