My personal message:
For nearly 7 years I have been very involved with Horizons for Youth, the only organization in Chicago offering the unique combination of need-based scholarships, one-on-one mentoring, and enrichment programs for 108 elementary (K - 8th) school students.  Through this organization, I have the privilege of mentoring an amazingly talented and smart young girl named Lexus. 

In honor of Lexus and all of the other incredible Horizons for Youth students, I, along with a team of runners, will be participating in the 2008 Chicago Distance Classic Half Marathon on August 10th.  We are running to raise funds to support Horizons for Youth and its students.  All money raised will go directly to our youth. 

If I'm going to be pounding the pavement running over 13 miles on a hot August day in Chicago, I hope you will consider making an online contribution!  My goal is to raise $3,000!  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure.  It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
