Hi everyone!
I am running in the New York City marathon on Nov. 1st this year. My first marathon; perhaps, my last, so I thought it would be great to do it for a cause other than my own personal suffering...oops I meant fulfillment and joy, of course.
I am raising money for the Achilles FREEDOM TEAM of Wounded Veterans which is part of the Achilles Track Club. The Freedom Team introduces recently wounded soldiers from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, mainly amputees, to running, making it an important part of their rehabilitation. Not surprisingly, the running is just the means to the ultimate objective of helping the vets to deal, physically and mentally, with all the challenges created by their disabilities and, more generally, of returning home from the war. Here's the link to their website if you would like to learn more about it: http://www.achillestrackclub.org/freedom_team/
I know you all get and respond to many many requests to help others so I appreciate any support you might be willing to provide to the Freedom Team.
Thank you!!
P.S. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. You can also send a check made out to ACHILLES and put my name in the memo. The address is as follows:
