As many of you know, the Diabetic Youth Foundation is an organization that focuses on children and families affected by type 1 diabetes.  The DYF aims to educate these children and families by providing both information and a support network on which these families can rely.  In this way, the DYF is not only an organization; it is a family.

Throughout the years, the DYF has welcomed me into their family and has fostered an environment in which I was able to accept my diabetes and grow into a better person, all the while teaching those around me to do the same.  Bearskin Meadow Camp, their primary program, has been my home for almost thirteen years.  Due to the recession, the DYF's ability to run this camp and their other essential year-round programs has been threatened.  The DYF prides itself on its ability to subsidize any child or family's trip to camp, and with the loss of many expected corporate donations the DYF is struggling to fulfill one of its most important mission statements.

If you have come to this page, I know that you care.  Whatever you can give, whether it's a dollar or one hundred, know that it WILL make a difference. It only takes 10,000 people to donate just $25 to ensure the DYF can run successfully for the rest of the year.
