For Epilepsy & Seizure Awareness

The Epilepsy Foundation, through education, direct services, advocacy and epilepsy prevention campaigns, is dedicated to serving those affected with epilepsy and related seizure disorders to find an improved quality of life.  Epilepsy is the medical term used to describe the more than 20 conditions characterized by recurrent seizures.  Epilepsy can affect anyone at any age, at any time.  There are 30,000 individuals affected by epilepsy in our four county Southeast Wisconsin area (Milwaukee, Waukesh, Ozaukee, and Washington) and 44-50% of those diagnosed with epilepsy are NOT medically controlled at this time.

This year's Walk/Run will be held on June 29, 2008 at Veteran's Park!

We encourage you to create your own web page, use a favorite photo of yourself or the person you are fun raising for and email it to friends, who, in turn, can email it to their friends!  Be creative and make your web page as much fun as possible!  We will have a mini carnival & A Fun Run for Kids will be held after the Awards Ceremony has been completed.  Each child who participates will get a prize.  The 2008 Brainstorm 3K Walk/5K Run for Epilepsy and Seizure Awareness is a family oriented event and fun for everyone, including the youngest members of your family!  We're looking forward to seeing you at the starting line on June 29th (rain or shine).  Thank you for your support!  We appreciate your walking and running the extra mile for epilepsy!
