Our Mission:
To empower, enrich and educate through horses
Equest is an internationally recognized nonprofit that provides therapy using horses for children and adults with all types of disabilities and learning differences
Our History
Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship was founded in 1981 and was the first therapeutic riding center in Texas for children, adults and our nations brave veterans, with all types of disabilities or learning differences. Our program quickly became an industry leader in equine assisted therapy, and over the course of our 28 years we have built a solid base in the North Texas community serving thousands of clients with our unique therapy tools ~ our horses!
Equine assisted therapy is well known throughout the world and Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship continues to lead the industry with our staff of PATH certified instructors. In addition, we offer a PATH approved instructor certification program, teaching students from all over the world to become certified instructors. The instructor training course enables us to make a difference in the professional expertise of therapeutic riding instructors and have a positive impact on the quality of services available to the disabled nationally and internationally. Equest is a dynamic facility that utilizes over 400 volunteers a week to create a safe and effective environment for our clients and horses.
