Dear Family and Friends!
On Sunday, September 7th, I will be participating in a 100-mile bike event called the Three Notch Century*, which is challenging ride through Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch and the Kancamagus Highway. Last year, I participated in this event with two lovely ladies, Stacy Campbell (Rhoads) and Becky Daley. Despite the incredible rain, which came down all day, we had a blast!
In preparation for this years event, I purchased a road bike (since I borrowed one last year) and I'm looking forward to finally using it! With two little ones keeping me busy, I haven't been able to ride as much as I'd like - good thing this isn't a race! And it's also a good thing that I'll be teaming up with Stacy so we can each ride 50 miles.
Why am I doing this? To support a very important orgainzation called SeaCare Health Services. I've worked for SeaCare for more than 5 years and I am proud to participate in this event to support this agency. SeaCare has nearly 400 health care professionals that donate their time and services to care for people who do not have health insurance. Since 1992, they have donated more than $15,000,000 in health care services and products to thousands of adults and children living in the Seacoast community. During a single year, over 60 million Americans move on and off private health insurance. As a result, the need for health care access continues to be great.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Or, if you'd rather send a check, please mail it to my attention, payable to SeaCare Health Services, 11 Downing Court, Exeter, NH 03833. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you!
Erika
*The Three Notch Century is being organized by Northeast Passage, where my husband Dave works. Northeast Passage is a program of the University of New Hampshire that delivers disability-related health promotion and adapted sports programs throughout New England. www.nepassage.org. Northeast Passage will be providing the infrastructure and logistics for the event (www.threenotchcentury.org). The funds I raise, beyond the $100 registration fee for this event, will be donated to SeaCare Health Services.
