The Foundation for Self-Sufficiency in Central America (FSSCA) works in partnership and solidarity with low-income communities in Central America organized to achieve environmental sustainability, economic self-sufficiency, social justice, and peace. We assist in providing the financial, technical, and moral support needed for these communities to carry out their plans. The vision, initiative, organization, and implementation of the projects we support come directly from the communities with whom we work.

My personal message:
The Esperanza Club of Edgewood College is coordinating a campuswide campaign to contribute to the international effort to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Oscar Romero's Martyrdom. Romero, the humble son of a carpenter, was assassinated because he dared to support the basic human rights of peace, justice, and a dignified life.
In his memory, our organization has set a personal goal of raising funds for 250 trees as part of an international campaign to plant 1 million trees in El Salvador to help reverse the devastating deforestation there. At $10 per tree, each tree you donate will have a tag with your name, the species and common name of the tree, and a memorial to Romero. Instead of your name, you can also donate in honor of a loved one, a student organization, or anonymously.
To participate, all you have to do is click the "Give Now" button below and you can make a quick, secure credit card donation in about three minutes. Your donation is, of course, tax deductible.
