Hey everyone thanks for stopping into the website. I'm going crazy counting the days until I start hiking. Looking forward to living simply for 5 monthsX, but more importantly I'm looking forward to benefitting Malawians and FaithQuest, the organization that does such great work over there. I am blessed enough to have the resources to spend 5 months walking thru this beautiful country while in stark contrast the people of Malawi struggle to have enough food to last them and their children 5 months. Let’s make the hike more than a great adventure and help out FaithQuest and the people of Malawi.
Thanks - Mark
My biggest goal in this hike is not just to finish but to raise awareness of a great tragedy that is happening today. That tragedy is the unimaginable living conditions of the people of Malawi, Africa.
The need in Malawi is greater than anything we can imagine. Infant mortality is declining rapidly and it's a country that is literally dying of otherwise manageable illnesses. Their problem is that while
this is happening, most of the world is simply unaware. Sometimes governments and international organizations can't efficiently pinpoint the need in these difficult situations. It often falls on individuals, corporations and independent relief organizations to make
the important difference.
Here's what we can do; I can be an ambassador for Christ in his stated
mission to care for "the least of these". You can be a part of the
"FaithQuest Challenge", by sponsoring my steps for those in need.
This hike is my best offering to bring awareness and relief to these
good people in Malawi. Please join me. I'm humbly asking you to
become sponsors of the "FaithQuest Challenge" at any level, lager or small.
I'm working through the non-profit FaithQuest Missions. This group has a great story and has had remarkable and proven success in delivering compassionate support to the villagers of Malawi. I know this organization and its leaders personally, and it’s easy for me to whole-heartedly endorse and support their work and use of our support. It will make a difference!
Join me in bringing relief to the those who need it so desperately.
Thanks so much for considering all of this. I hope to hear from you.

FAQ -
Q. Where will my support go?
A. FaithQuest Challenge money is supporting FaithQuest Missions, leaders in the “Y-Malawi?” project. FaithQuest intends to leverage the money by using it to target additional churches for engagement in Africa through Y-Malawi. FaithQuest’s involvement with seeing the 25+ Y-Malawi churches involved so far has had helped Y-Malawi mobilize thousands of Malawi child sponsorship through World Vision, and great sums of money and tangible help for the villages of the Nkhoma and Chilenje regions. Y-Malawi churches have sponsored up to 400 children each and committed tens of thousands of dollars of additional giving per year. Over the 15 year term of the project, this can literally be several million dollars from one church! This can literally save hundreds to thousands of lives through drilling of dozens of new water wells, food security projects, medical projects including initiatives around HIV/AIDS and malaria eradication efforts, new schools and educational programs, economic development programs including micro-lending and micro-business development, orphan and widow care initiatives, and many more very tangible ways that God’s love can be shared. Gaining more of these churches involvement in this way with Y-Malawi is the focus of the money from the FaithQuest Challenge! Our goal is to see the $15,000 leveraged into millions over time by strategically reaching churches with the opportunity to join this movement and literally see transformation throughout Malawi. Leveraged giving = Big impact!
