Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin provides food to 330,000 people through a network of food pantries, meal programs and shelters in 36 counties in Eastern Wisconsin. This year, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin marks its 30th Anniversary. From our first donation of a bushel of apples in 1982 to the distribution of 15.4 million pounds of food last year, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has expanded its roots in the community. In 31 years, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has distributed over 280 million meals to those in need.
The food bank is the largest, private, non-profit distributor of food in the state with locations in Milwaukee and the Fox Cities. Over the past two years, demand for food has increased 30%, largely due to the recession. This has forced families and individuals to make difficult choices like choosing between buying food and paying their bills.
