HELP US TO BUILD THE NEW POLICE MUSEUM AT THE NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS MEMORIAL (N.L.E.O.M.F.) IN WASHINGTON, D.C. It was my privilege to be a police officer in Florida for over thirty-six (36) years. I began my law enforcement career with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and in 1993 I retired from that outstanding agency with the rank of captain. After I moved my family to north Florida, to the State Capitol at Tallahassee, I accepted a new captain's position with the Department of Insurance / Division of Insurance Fraud. I retired from state employment, again as a captain, in 2003. Now, it is indeed an honor for me to be named a Law Enforcement Ambassador and to work with the dedicated people at the N.L.E.O.M.F. and assist them in their fundraising efforts to make the new police museum a reality. The total cost for the new museum will be $80 million dollars and we are almost halfway there. All of the funds for the museum will come from private donations, from individuals and corporations, large and small, who appreciate and support the brave men and women of the law enforcement profession. The new museum, like the Memorial itself, will be a fitting tribute to those law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice (the names of over 18,000 federal, state and local law enforcement officers are engraved on the blue-gray marble walls of the Memorial).
