The For Mia Fundraiser will host its 2nd Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand as part of the National Lemonade Days weekend on Friday, June 6, 2008 from 8pm-2am at The Khyber, 56 South 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA. The For Mia Fundraiser decided to get involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand after Mia Garito was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia) in November 2006 at age 7. After her first bone marrow transplant Mia relapsed, but nearly two years and many treatments later Mia has survived. The nightlong event will feature 5 bands (An American Chinese, It's A King Thing, ArDuvall, Dark Horse & the Carousels and The Cobbs) and 3 DJs (Monica Sharp, DJ DeeJay and Mighty Mike Saga) coming together at The Khyber for a night of music for a good cause. The door fee is $10 for both floors. The night will be dedicated Timothy J. McNichol who lost his battle in 1995, at age 15, to Neurofibrosarcoma.Last year I raised over $4,400 and became one of the Top 100 Stands of 2007 out of thousands across the country. It's my goal to make $6,000 this year and every little bit helps!
