Celebrity Dancer: Frank Murphy
Age: Older than fine wine but younger than fine cognac
Occupation: co-host, Marc & Kim and Frank show on Star 102.1
What is your dance experience?
"While in college, I fell down and broke my arm while attempting to dance to 'My Sharona.' No kidding."
Why are you doing this event?
“First of all, because it will help Children's Hospital; secondly because I am deathly afraid of dancing (see above) and it's about time that I faced my fear. Also, I have seen every episode of the real "Dancing with the Stars" and I know that my dance partner Emily can wow the crowd just like Julianne Hough or Cheryl Burke, which will get votes for our team."
Why should people vote for you/donate?
“To show support for the underdog and to encourage me to dance with my wife in the future. Plus it's a fun way to make your annual donation to Children's Hospital.”
Pro: Emily Loyless
Age: the same as Frank's daughter
Occupation: Dance teacher, of course! I also coach and compete professionally across the US with my partner Jeremy Norris.
Dance Experience: Started in Flamenco (Spanish dance), then branched off into Latin and Ballroom. I've been competing for five years and have had the opportunity to train with some of the best coaches in the US. I compete with my students in International Latin and Standard and American Rhythm and Smooth and with Jeremy in American Rhythm and Theater Arts.
Why are you doing this event? I think it is a fantastic way to draw people's interest into raising money for the Children's Hospital. And personally, I think it is a fun challenge to try to turn someone who has never danced into Knoxville's Dancing with the Stars champion!
Why should people vote for you/donate? For various reasons, we will be the most entertaining couple out there. However the dancing goes, I know I can say that!
Don't miss STAR 102.1's Dancing with the Knoxville Stars, Thursday, April 23rd at Academy Ballroom at Downtown West! Buy your tickets now by calling East Tennessee Children's Hospital at (865) 541-8441.
