We are so excited to be participating in the VNU's 4th annual Run Walk Roll on Saturday, June 6, 2009! Through this event, we will be raising awareness about the financial, spiritual, physical, and mental needs of all people with disabilities as well as VNU's mission and purpose to fulfill our needs!
As you probably know, VNU is a private, non-profit, interdenominational organization that has been serving adults with disabilities since 1976. The staff that work at VNU are professionally trained and are dedicated to the mission of providing purpose, privacy, and dignity for all people. At VNU, individuals served are able to receive residential, vocational, and employment opportunities through a wide variety of programs.
In 1985, house 358 was remodeled specifically for individuals who utilize a wheelchair. The individuals living in this house decided to go by the name of Freewheelers because their new house would allow them to be as free as possible in their wheelchairs. Our team, team Freewheelers, consists of the residents of house 358, as well as their staff. Our philosophy is for each individual to be as independent as possible, by allowing each person to do what he or she can for themselves, and, to the best of their abilities, instruct what they can not do, by asking the staff for help.
The Freewheelers will be rolling in the one mile walk, many with the assistance of staff or family members. Money raises will be used to enhance the programs and services that are available at the Village. We are SUPER excited to help continue to make the Village the great place it is, and hope that YOU can assist us!

Last year, team Freewheelers was able to raise $642.00 for this event. Our goal for this year is to raise $800.00. Please consider sponsoring our team!
