The good news - one less puppy mill.
The sad news - more hounds that desperately need help.
AZBHR has committed to take four hounds. They are two females, Annabelle (8yrs) and Daisey (7yrs), along with two males, Kool Kevin (2yrs) and baby Carthy (4mths). A commercial breeder in Missouri went out of business and walked away, a rescue was their last chance. A group of rescue folks stepped in and saved these hounds from being sold to other puppy mill breeders.
Transportation arrangements are in the works to get them from Missouri to Arizona. They should arrive this weekend.
Some people might ask why we would do this - there are so many dogs in need right here in Arizona. We get calls for assistance from from time to time from other rescue groups. Many times we can't help but this time we couldn't say no.
No dog should ever be kept in a small wire cage, continuously bred, maybe never see the light of day and never know human kindness and love. Coming from a puppy mill, they have not had proper medical care and will need to be spayed/neutered. They must learn to trust and love humans while in their foster homes. The greatest joy of all is when they find their forever homes.
We are asking you to please open your hearts to help. Can you imagine your hounds not having your love, special treats, good meals and a soft warm place to sleep? Imagine your life without the love your dogs give you. Please help us help Annabelle, Daisey, Kool Kevin and baby Carthy find the life and love they deserve.
How can you help?
