On October 15, 2013, we lost a remarkable father, husband, grandfather and friend. Faced with a devastating diagnosis a year ago, our father battled his cancer with quiet grace, determination and dignity. He never complained or felt self-pity, even in his final, painful days.
Though his life was cut short by a terrible disease, our lives were made infinitely better by his quiet kindness, his vast knowledge, his unflappable optimism and his unconditional love and devotion.
We love you, Dad.
About the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
Pancreatic cancer is particularly deadly as it typically does not cause symptoms until the end stages of the disease. Only 23% of Americans diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive a full year. Now the fourth-leading cause of cancer death in the US, it could move up to second place by 2015.
Please consider supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in its goal to double the pancreatic cancer survival rate by 2020 through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure.
