Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I am excited to be participating in the Miles for Melanoma fundraising campaign, en route to taking part in the Rock n' Roll Seattle Marathon on June 23rd, 2012.
Having been personally touched by both a relative's and a significant other's experience battling melanoma, I feel it's imperative to help in the fight to fund research on melanoma treatment protocols, and ultimately to find a cure for skin cancers in general. I would love your support in this endeavor, and will be running the Seattle Marathon both in memory of my cousin, Cathy, as well as in support of my girlfriend, Alexandra, who recently kicked melanoma booty, and is also running... but don't give her any more money! :)
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
ps I participated in the Boston Marathon on April 16th. It was a brutally hot day (90 degrees), and I was ill-prepared for running in the heat. As a result, it was my first ever DNF in a race. Although I was bummed not to have finished, I learned a valuable lesson about remaining in tune with that which your body tells you, and came away from the experience feeling wiser and happy that I made the right decision. Now, on to redemption at Seattle!
