The Campus Kitchen at Johns Hopkins University
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
CKJHU has done a lot of exciting things this year. We had a big presence at the Baltimore sleep-out for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, collected about a dozen heavy boxes of donated winter clothes around our campus for a winter clothing drive, taught middle schoolers about healthy snacks they can eat as an alternative to processed sweets, and helped our friends Real Food Hopkins start a community garden. We've also rescued a few thousand pounds of food since September, so that we can keep on feeding, as well as teaching and leading. We don't cost much to run, but when you support us we can do these things and all kinds of other exciting programming that we might not get to do otherwise. We always want to do more, because hunger is everywhere we look and we can't get too comfy about what we're already doing.
Big, systemic changes can only come from the kind of united and concerted efforts that we see in the movies. The nice thing, though, is that they're very possible. $20 helps us pay for gas, so that we can transport volunteers to our cooking sites and to events where they can network with anti-hunger leaders. $50 helps us buy cooking supplies so we can keep doing our nutrition classes to teach tomorrow's generation how to eat better than their parents did. $100 gets us enough seeds to feed hundreds and hundreds of people with our new community garden. Do you want to be part of that? We hope you'll say yes.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. Also, please "like" this page so you can put in a good word for us!
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
