Alyson Hunter's Fundraising Page
Everyone -
I don't need to tell you how terrific this program is as you've all heard me express its greatness for the last few years. I will, however, share a little story about a personal success obtained through BBBS. Many of you know or have heard me talk about my Lil' Sis, Elena. Elena turned 15 this last summer and managed to get herself accepted to Philips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire on a FULL SCHOLARSHIP for her sophomore, junior and senior years of high school!!!! She's there now! It was a bittersweet closure of our 5-year match this summer, but I was so proud of her for this huge achievement!
This is just one of the relationships fostered through this great organization and it could not have happened without Bowl For Kids' Sake and pledges received from people like you. BFKS makes up ± 80% of our local BBBS office's annual operating budget, so its success is directly related to the continuance of this service. The money raised here stays here and helps to serve our local kids. Since the North Coast BBBS's inception in 1969, over 1,000 kids have been matched. Hard times have hit the organization as our economy struggles, so this year's pledges are even more valuable!
The Humboldt County Community Development Services team bowls on Saturday 3/1. Please email your pledges to me at your earliest convenience. You will receive a bill from BBBS a month or two after the event. We also like pre-payment, if that's possible.
THANKS in advance for your generosity! Alyson
