Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As most of you know, I am a third year pediatric resident at Mass General Hospital for Children. Over the past three years I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. O'Malley and the rest of the pediatric palliative care team in caring for children with severe or life threatening illnesses, and I have seen first hand the invaluable services, care, and support they offer to patients and their families.
The palliative care group collaborates with the rest of the medical team to provide an additional level of healing and support for children with serious diseases. They also work to maximize the child's quality of life and help relieve pain and stress whenever possible. In addition they help to facilitate smooth transitions of care for the child, coordinate communication between the child and family and their many health care providers, and strive to improve a family's experience of care and help them navigate difficult choices.
This year the running of the Boston Marathon is especially significant given the tragedy that affected the runners, spectators, and first responders at last years race. I am excited and honored to run this race for the palliative care team, to support all of their efforts help the very sick children at Mass General Hospital. I hope you will decide to support the palliative care program as well!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
