Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Walk for Change! Last year, we were able to raise $3700 and we have a goal to assist BARCC this year by raising $4500. BARCC's goal this year is to raise $100,000 and have 1,000 people walking.
Cathleen has been volunteering as a Rape Crisis Counselor/Public Educator with BARCC since 1998 and Rob has been involved with fundraising for the past three years. We both believe in the grassroots, deliberate and effective support the organization has been offering survivors and their significant others in the Greater Boston area since 1973.
As always, we hope to enlist more walkers and more sponsorship than last year! To challenge ourselves as well as our friends and family, we have a proposition for all of you that we hope will honor you as well as BARCC. To encourage large and small donations alike, from new or previous givers, we pledge to match 50% of your contributions up to the first $3000 pledged.
If you'd like to walk in the event, we'd love to have you there in solidarity with us! It is a great experience seeing all the people motivated to show their support together. It costs just $20 to walk - doggies and kids can be registered to walk with you for $5 & $10, respectively. T-shirts are provided to all walkers! If you register to walk, please join the "CAP$ Volunteers and Friends" team. This is our walk volunteer team (not to be confused with the "CAP team"...)
If you can't walk or support BARCC financially this year, that's OK! But, please spread word to friends and family about the Walk and the services BARCC provides. BARCC's main website can be found at: www.barcc.org. The "main" fundraising website is: www.firstgiving.org/barcc
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure (Firstgiving takes a very small overhead for website donations). It is the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. However, if you'd prefer not to do it through the website, you can mail your check, payable to BARCC, to the BARCC office, with our names in the memo section.
Many thanks for your new or continued support! If you have questions, please contact us, of course!
Sincerely,
Cathleen and Rob
