Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
My name is Kaylee Turner and I am 11 years old. I am so glad that my friend Chryssie Rose invited me to Centaur Stride over a year ago. I met Chryssie Rose at the Buddy Walk in Erie in 2008. We quickly became friends even though we don’t live near each other. I love it at Centaur Stride! My trainers take good care of me. I ride well enough now that my Mom no longer walks beside me!
The staff is helping me to be independent! I started out riding Rosie but now I usually ride Dyeak. I brush him, carry out my riding blanket and saddle then help saddle him up. I have learned words like: lead rope, reigns, stirrups, and cinch. This year I started fastening my helmet all by myself. I got pinched once and did not like it. I fought everyone about putting on my helmet for a couple weeks. Savannah was so patient with me on those days. Mom worked with me at home until I was able to fasten it myself. Now I put it on myself and am ready to ride.
This year I started to trot without someone right next to me. I am steering much better all by myself. Sometimes Tyler or Savannah will hold on to the end of a long rope and let me have more control of Dyeak. Mom keeps busy helping out by brushing the horses that don’t get much attention or scooping up horse poop!
I have taken my sister-in-law, Jena, and my cousin, Brent, both to Centaur Stride for a riding lesson. They both enjoyed getting a lesson. I think I ride better than them but I have been going for a long time.
After I am done riding and have put everything away I get to give out treats to the horses and to the kittens! I love the kittens. They are so soft and like to be petted. Mom says I am not to pick them up but that is so hard. I don’t like leaving when my lesson is over.
My Mom and Dad are so impressed with Centaur Stride that they drive over an hour each way to bring me almost every Saturday (unless it is too cold).
It would be great if you could sponsor me or any of the other riders or horses. Any amount will help!
If you know of others that would like to learn about Centaur Stride, see the pictures, read what the riders have written or better yet make a donation please give them the email address
