Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  I'm running the 2012 Run for the Dream Half Marathon on Sunday, May 20, 2012, in Williamsburg VA to raise money and awareness for Ocular Melanoma (OM).  This is my first half marathon.

I was diagnosed with OM in 2010 and had never heard of it before. It's a rare disease and, can sometimes metastasize (spread) to the liver and lungs, and become fatal.  

CURE Ocular Melanoma (CURE OM: Community United for Research and Education of Ocular Melanoma) is the Melanoma Research Foundation's initiative to increase awareness, education, treatment and research funding of ocular melanoma.

CURE OM's Mission:
To support research and accelerate the development of effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for ocular melanoma through innovative strategies including international and interdisciplinary collaborations. To improve the lives of people affected by ocular melanoma by creating systems and programs to provide education and support. To advocate for the ocular melanoma community.
